Immanuel Ministries

Worship:

We believe that worship is the heart of any community of faith. The worship experience forms our identity as Christians and binds us together in love for God and in service to the needs of all people. At Immanuel, we gather as a diverse people together to hear the life-giving Word of God, receive the renewing sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion, and support one another in living the faith-life.

Service is at 10:00AM on Sunday mornings.

Music - is a universal language of prayer and praise. At Immanuel, we continue to develop opportunities for people to use their gifts of music to praise God and lift the hearts of their sisters and brothers. Immanuel’s Adult Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 pm and invites all who love music to be a part of this vital group that aids in our worship. Psalm 150 is a recently formed praise band which meets and rehearses regularly and is introducing more contemporary music periodically into our worship service. The Praise Band is made up of committed Christians who have been gifted by God with musical ability and who are willing to use that gift in His service. We also have a newly formed Chime Choir.

"I would gladly see all arts, especially music, in the service of Him who has given and created them." -- Martin Luther
Altar Guild - This group of dedicated people provide the preparation, care and cleaning of all the worship items in the chancel area for every service held at Immanuel. Their meticulous attention and detail to their work help make the worship experience meaningful and a pleasure.

Worship Support - Ushers, Acolytes, Lay Assistants, Lay Readers, Greeters, Hospitality Providers - All these groups provide great support to all of our worship services. You are invited to join any one or more of these vital groups that help make worship wonderful!

VBS 2004 served over 65 children, and we expect to grow in 2005!

First Communion - at Immanuel consists of instructing children who are ready to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion. The preparation and instruction is done in consultation with the pastor, the children and their parents. Children, approximately 9 years old or in 4th grade, are encouraged to participate.

Confirmation Ministry - at Immanuel is a three-year program beginning in fall of 6th grade and ending the spring of 8th grade. Adult Discipleship:

We believe we are all called to be disciples - followers of Jesus. As we become more spiritually mature, we move from simply believing doctrines about God into a relationship with God that transforms the way we live and think in every aspect of our life, expecting God’s transforming power in our lives. Adult Discipleship Ministries provide an array of opportunities for adults to learn about and mature in their faith. All of the ministries are open to all who are interested.

Immanuel Lutheran Church Women (ILCW) - This dedicated group provides many different activities for women at Immanuel. Such activities include: Monthly Circle Bible Study meetings, Hosting various receptions (such as new member, Mother’s and Father’s Day, etc.), Assisting with Funeral Luncheons, and more.
